Privacy and permissions
What stays on your Mac, and the little that doesn't.
Findow has no account, and no analytics, crash reporting or tracking in the app. The full details are in the privacy policy.
What stays on your Mac
- Window titles, positions and app names, which are read to find and arrange windows.
- Workflows, grids and settings.
- Previews, which are made on your Mac, kept in memory and never uploaded.
- Which window you opened for a search. You can clear this in Settings > Switcher, under Remembered searches.
Findow doesn't record what you type. It watches for its own shortcuts so it can respond to them.
What leaves your Mac
- A licence check once a day, with your licence key and an activation record, and nothing about your windows or files.
- An update check that contains no personal data.
Private windows
Findow leaves out private windows where it can detect them. Chrome, Arc, Brave and Edge report incognito windows. Safari can't report private windows, which is why saving Safari tabs is off by default.
