# One app instead of five.

## Five jobs. One $19.99 app.

Most Macs end up with separate apps to switch windows, save workspaces, tile windows, scroll a strip and hide the screen on calls. Findow does all five, and they work together.

### Find

Instead of a window switcher. Search every window, including minimized ones and other desktops.

### Switch

Instead of a workspace app. Bring back your apps, windows and tabs with one key.

### Tile

Instead of a tiling app. Windows arrange themselves, in your own grid if you like.

### Scroll

Instead of a strip app. Windows sit on a strip wider than your screen, so nothing shrinks.

### Hide

Instead of a privacy tool. Darken everything but your window, or clear the screen.

A workflow can tidy itself on arrival, and the same overview finds every window however it's arranged.

## Hold, tab, type. You're there.

Tap ⌥Tab to jump back. Hold it to see a live map of each screen, with minimized windows underneath, then keep holding and type to search. Lift your finger and you're in. For everything at once, ⌃⌥Space opens the full overview, including minimized windows and other desktops.

![Findow's overview showing eight windows, one highlighted in amber](https://findowmac.com/img/overview.jpg)

### Type while you hold

Search window titles and app names without letting go of ⌥Tab.

### Filter by place

Jump straight to minimized windows or the ones on other desktops.

### Use your mouse

The middle or a side button opens Findow, even though macOS 27 stopped accepting simulated gestures.

## Stop setting up your Mac every morning.

Save a workflow once. Press its key and Findow brings it all back.

- Reopens the apps you saved

- Puts each window back in its place

- Reopens tabs in Chrome, Arc, Brave and Edge, and Safari if you choose

- Gives each workflow a key, from ⌃⌥1 to ⌃⌥9

- Can hide everything else, or tidy on arrival

- Can switch by itself when its monitors connect

- Exports to a file, ready for your next Mac

- Never quits an app, so unsaved work stays safe

## One key to clear the mess.

Press ⌃⌥T and the windows on your desktop fall into place. Press it again to undo. Nothing moves until you ask, and full-screen windows stay as they are.

**Grid** Every window gets equal space.

**Columns** Side by side, full height.

**Rows** Stacked, full width.

**Focus** One large window, the rest beside it.

## Arrange your way, or not at all.

Two optional modes for people who want windows managed all day. Both stay off until you choose one, and you control them from the menu bar.

### Auto arrange

New windows take their place as they open, and the rest close the gap. Each display keeps its own layout. Windows that don't fit wait at the screen edge, with a tab showing how many.

### Scrolling strip

Windows sit side by side on a strip wider than your screen, so opening one never shrinks the others. Stack them, turn stacks into tabs, pin one to the edge, or click the screen edge to bring in the next.

- No SIP changes and no config files

- Full-screen and fixed-size windows stay put

- Each desktop keeps its own arrangement

- Pause any time with ⌃⌥P

- Fill the screen with ⌃⌥Z, press again to return

- Warns you if another window app is running

- Every shortcut can be changed

- Hold ⌃⌥ and use the mouse wheel to move along

- Undo any arrangement with ⌃⌥U

- Learns each app's smallest size and makes room

- Give an app a fixed position, or make it the main window

- Hold ⌃⌥ for a map of every window, and click to jump

## Draw the grid you want.

Pick a ready-made grid, or set the rows and columns and drag across cells to join them.

- Nine ready-made grids, plus starting points for coding, research, calls and writing

- Your main window keeps the biggest tile while the others move

- Drag a window's edge and the grid line moves with it

- Drag one window onto another to swap them

- Each display keeps its own grid

- Can pick a grid for however many windows are open

## Keep other people out of your screen.

Two keys for calls, cafes and deep work. Each works on its own, and each puts everything back with one more press.

### No peek

Everything except the window you're in goes dark, so people nearby or on a call can't read the rest. Make it darker, or add a blur. Press ⌃⌥⇧N.

### Clean Space

Your window fills the screen and two panels close in behind it. Everything else is out of sight, on that screen only. Press ⌃⌥⇧Z.

![Findow's menu bar panel, with workflows, arrange modes, layouts and quick actions](https://findowmac.com/img/menu-panel.jpg)

## Everything is in the menu bar.

Change mode, pick a layout or undo in one click, without opening Settings.

- Switch, save and delete workflows

- Off, Auto or Strip, and every layout

- Undo, Clean Space and No peek one click away

- Says so when a display is off, so nothing fails silently

## Unplug a monitor. Keep your layout.

Findow remembers where your windows go for each monitor setup and puts them back when that setup returns.

Your windows are spread across both screens.

- ⌥Tab Switch windows

- ⌃⌥Space Find a window

- ⌃⌥1–9 Switch workflow

- ⌃⌥T Tidy windows

- ⌃⌥Z Fill the screen

- ⌃⌥P Pause arranging

- ⌃⌥U Undo arrangement

- ⌃⌥⇧Z Clean Space

- ⌃⌥⇧N No peek

- ⌃⌥X Clear the desktop

- ⌃⌥N Next display

- ⌃⌥← Left half

- ⌃⌥→ Right half

- ⌃⌥↑ Maximize

- ⌃⌥↓ Center

- ⌃⌥D F G Thirds

- ⌘1–4 Filter

## How Findow compares.

Each of these apps is strong at its own job. Findow brings those jobs together, so one app can do what would otherwise take several.

## Questions

### What is Findow?

Findow is a Mac app that does the work of a window switcher, a workspace app, a tiling window manager, a scrolling window strip and a screen privacy tool. It costs $19.99 once, with a 14-day free trial, and needs macOS 14 or later.

### How do I get Findow?

Download it and use everything free for 14 days. When you buy, your licence key arrives by email. Paste it into the Licence tab in Findow.

### Can I get a refund?

Yes. Ask within 14 days of buying, for any reason.

### Can I move my licence to a new Mac?

Yes. A licence covers one Mac at a time. Deactivate it in the Licence tab on the old Mac, then enter your key on the new one.

### What does a workflow save?

Your open apps, window positions and tabs in Chrome, Arc, Brave and Edge. Incognito tabs are skipped. Safari tabs are off by default, because Safari can't tell Findow which windows are private.

### Is it as deep as a dedicated app?

Not on every feature. Findow covers the parts most people use in one place. If you live in one specialist tool all day, it may still go further on that one job.

### Does it arrange windows automatically?

Only if you ask. It's off by default. Press ⌃⌥T to tidy once, or turn on Auto arrange or the Scrolling strip in Settings.

### What if my windows don't fit?

Findow shows as many as really fit and moves the lines to give each app the room it needs. The rest wait past the screen edge. Click the tab there, use ⌃⌥ and the mouse wheel, or switch to a window to bring it in.

### Can I undo what Findow did?

Yes. Press ⌃⌥U or use Undo in the menu bar to step back through your arrangements.

### Can I use it with Rectangle or Magnet?

Yes, for finding windows and workflows. Auto arrange and the strip move windows all the time, so quit other window apps while using them. Findow warns you if one is running.

### What happens to my windows if I turn the strip off?

They all come back on screen. While the strip is on, a tab at the screen edge shows how many windows wait there, so none gets lost.

### Does it replace ⌘Tab?

No. Findow uses ⌥Tab and leaves ⌘Tab as it is, so you can use both.

### Will switching lose my unsaved work?

No. Findow only opens and hides apps. It never quits them.

### Does it fix Mission Control?

No. Findow gives you a separate way to find windows. Mission Control stays on your Mac and works as it does now.

### Why does it ask for permissions?

Accessibility opens and moves windows. Screen Recording shows previews and finds windows on other desktops. Automation reads your browser tabs when you save a workflow. Nothing is recorded, and it all stays on your Mac.

### Which Macs does it work on?

The aim is any Mac on macOS 14 or later. So far it has only been built and run on Apple silicon with macOS 27.
