# Security

For IT teams and anyone who wants the details.

## How it's built

- Signed with an Apple Developer ID and notarized by Apple.

- Runs on your Mac, with no account and no server of ours in normal use.

- No analytics, crash reporting or tracking in the app.

- Sparkle is used for updates, and updates are verified with a signature.

## Permissions it uses

- **Accessibility:** to open, move and arrange windows, and to respond to its shortcuts.

- **Screen Recording:** to show window previews and find windows on other desktops. Previews stay on your Mac.

- **Automation:** to read browser tabs when you save a workflow, only for browsers already running.

## What leaves the Mac

- Your licence key and activation record, sent to Dodo Payments to validate your licence.

- A request for the latest version, if updates are on.

## Stored on the Mac

Settings live in your user preferences, and workflows, layouts and logs live in your Application Support and Logs folders. The window titles and browser addresses in workflows are stored unencrypted, protected by your macOS account and FileVault.

## Payments

Dodo Payments handles card details. They never reach Findow or this website.
